Online security --- the announcement for ALABAMA reads; Alabama residents will not be required to provide a Social Security numbers to purchase hunting or fishing licenses online, nor will residents be required to provide this identification number to retailers who issue licenses electronically. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources approved the new procedure to prevent identity theft. But hunters and anglers will have to provide a valid driver's license when purchasing a license.
